With the Xource heat pump system, Intergas introduces its first all-electric solution. The Xource heat pump system is energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, designed to heat the home and provide domestic hot water. The air-to-water heat pump extracts energy from the outside air and consists of the following:
► The indoor unit (Xource),
► The outdoor unit (Xource 7 kW lucht/water heat pump),
► The buffer tank with a capacity of 200 liters (WPS200) or 300 liters (WPS300).
The indoor part of the Xource is a Heat Pump Control Unit (HPCU), fully developed in-house, featuring several recognisable Intergas design elements. The HPCU manages the connection and control between the heat pump, central heating, and water supply. The outdoor unit – the air-to-water heat pump – is a so-called monoblock. In a monoblock heat pump, all components are built into a single outdoor unit connecting to the central heating system. For domestic hot water production, storage tanks with capacities of 200 or 300 litres are available.

The Xource is equipped with two electronically modulating circulation pumps, a built-in expansion vessel, and a backup heater. The backup heater ensures that the desired temperature can be reached when the monobloc cannot supply sufficient heat. This may occur during extremely low outdoor temperatures or when a very high temperature that falls outside the monobloc’s range is required.
From the Xource (HPCU), a heating and/or hot water demand is sent to the monobloc. The monobloc starts up and delivers a certain temperature via the Xource to either the low-temperature system (underfloor heating) or the hot water supply. Depending on which system is requesting heat, the control system in the Xource will activate one of the two circulation pumps. The backup heater will be activated if the desired temperature is not reached.
